Infrared and Electrical Applications
This 16-hour class prepares a technician to understand thermographic technology, become proficiently comfortable with the equipment and then apply the knowledge to efficiently and safely inspect electrical systems.
AUDIENCE: Beginners and practicing thermographers. No prerequisites.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Safely and effectively inspect industrial and commercial electrical systems including switchgear, bus ducts, motor control centers, electrical distribution panels, molded case breakers and motors

Identify typical electrical anomalies and patterns

Learn to assess priorities of anomalies

Collect data and collate results to prepare a report

Practice and relate these concepts using application workshops or a facility walk through where possible
Infrared in Electrical Utility Applications
This 16-hour class prepares a technician to understand thermographic technology, become proficiently comfortable with the equipment and then apply the knowledge to efficiently and safely inspect electrical utility substation, transmission and distribution systems.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Safely and effectively inspect utility substation, transmission and distribution electrical systems such as cables, bus, transformers, load tap changers, SF6 breakers, air switches, vacuum breakers reactors, arrestors, etc.

Illustrate thermal imaging equipment functions and parameters

Construct reports with thermal analysis
