APPLICATION TRAINING

Our non-certification, application-based training gives attendees a solid introduction and foundation in infrared technology.

Infrared and Electrical Applications

This 16-hour class prepares a technician to understand thermographic technology, become proficiently comfortable with the equipment and then apply the knowledge to efficiently and safely inspect electrical systems.

AUDIENCE: Beginners and practicing thermographers. No prerequisites.

CERTIFICATION: None

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Safely and effectively inspect industrial and commercial electrical systems including switchgear, bus ducts, motor control centers, electrical distribution panels, molded case breakers and motors

  • Identify typical electrical anomalies and patterns

  • Learn to assess priorities of anomalies

  • Collect data and collate results to prepare a report

  • Practice and relate these concepts using application workshops or a facility walk through where possible

Infrared in Electrical Utility Applications

This 16-hour class prepares a technician to understand thermographic technology, become proficiently comfortable with the equipment and then apply the knowledge to efficiently and safely inspect electrical utility substation, transmission and distribution systems.
